Dr. S. Shantha Kumar was born on 18th February 1976 at the sacred pilgrimage town of Kodumudi in Erode District, Tamil Nadu. Born into a dedicated agricultural family to Mr. I.K. Subramaniam and Late Mrs. S. Janaki, Dr. Shantha Kumar inherited an enduring reverence for nature, soil conservation, and community welfare from a very young age.
He is married to Mrs. D. Nithya Devi, and they are blessed with a daughter and a son. Balancing entrepreneurial leadership with environmental activism, Dr. Shantha Kumar has spearheaded multiple successful industrial ventures including Sree Sakthi Foundry (established in 1981 by his father), Shree Shakthi Industries (1997–2024), Shree Shakthi Loomz (2012–2025), and Shree Shakthi Electronics (2004–2012).
Driven by a profound vision to combat climate change, protect rare flora species, and mentor future generations, he established the Shree Shakthi Environmental Center on 18th February 2022. Today, Dr. Shantha Kumar stands as one of South India's most celebrated environmental champions, credited with planting over 3,15,000 saplings across industrial parks, universities, and rural landscapes.
Dr. S. Shantha Kumar's landmark environmental accomplishment is the personal supervision and execution of over 3,15,000 tree sapling plantations. His major plantation drives span premier educational institutions, government campuses, and industrial corridors across Tamil Nadu:

Shree Shakthi Environmental Center (22-Acre Farm Hub)
Dr. Shantha Kumar transformed his personal 22-acre farm at Paduvampalli into an internationally recognized Agroforestry Training & Eco-Tourism Center containing over 250 rare flora species and 18,000+ thriving trees. On 22nd February 2023, he launched Multi-Functional Agroforestry here in the presence of 5 IFS Officers, delegates from 7 Indian states, and the Dean of Forest College & Research Institute (FC&RI).
A Life Member of CODISSIA since 2000, Dr. Shantha Kumar achieved an extraordinary record of 100% attendance in Executive Committee Meetings for 9 consecutive years. In 2014, he represented CODISSIA at Hannover Messe in Germany, where he met Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji during the global inauguration of the "Make in India" project.
As Director of Codissia Industrial Park Limited (CIPL) and Honorary Assistant Joint Secretary, Dr. Shantha Kumar achieved remarkable feats:
- Payment Recovery: Single-handedly collected outstanding dues from 311 industrial members in 18 months.
- CIPL Bird Sanctuary & Kurunkadukal: Planted 13,000 saplings and established Miyawaki dense forests (Kurunkadukal) at Park Nos. 4, 9, 10, 11, and 13.
- COVID-19 Relief: Coordinated free vaccination camps serving over 18,000 citizens during the pandemic.
