Founder of the acclaimed Super 30 program
Anand Kumar is a globally renowned Indian mathematics educator and philanthropist. He is best known for his pioneering 'Super 30' educational program, started in Patna, Bihar, in 2002. His initiative selects 30 meritorious students from economically underprivileged backgrounds each year and trains them absolutely free of cost for the highly competitive Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) for the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs).
Born on January 1, 1973, in Patna, Bihar, Anand Kumar faced extreme financial hardships early in his life. Despite securing admission to Cambridge University, he could not attend due to his father's sudden death and acute financial constraints. Instead of giving up, he studied mathematics deeply on his own while selling 'papads' with his mother to support his family, ultimately turning his personal struggles into a lifelong mission to educate others.
With hard work, passionate guidance, and unwavering determination, even the most underprivileged students can conquer the toughest challenges in the world.
